Tawnya’s Great-Aunt Dolores’ 80th Birthday Party
Saturday, October 11, family members gathered at Tawnya’s parents’ house for a party honoring her Great-Aunt Dolores’ birthday. It was a great time visiting with family who haven’t seen each other in a very long time.
Trevor worked and also wasn’t feeling well, so he didn’t make it, but I was thrilled to go. We had the 8 boys (cousins) who grew up together all there for the first time in I’m not sure how long. My dad’s half brother, Tim, traveled from Washington to join the festivities. We hadn’t seen him in over two years. He is an uncle I’ve always felt very close to, so it was wonderful to have him and his girlfriend be able to come. (Ama really took to both of them too – her first chance to meet them.) Also, my dad’s cousin Pat, his two children, and second wife, Regina, came. I believe Pat and Regina traveled this way from Oklahoma last about 5 years ago. The kids, Eric and Brianna, I haven’t seen in over 20 years, so that was really neat!
Overall, time with family is always wonderful! I’m glad to have such a close family who chooses to get together often!
