Morning at the Mall
With excitement, the girls and I loaded into the car at 10:30AM to go to the mall and come home with a surprise for daddy, the Magic Mouse from Apple. Unfortunately, we got to the mall and the Apple store didn’t have any. We had fun nonetheless. Adeliza was asleep in the car when we […]

Pumpkin Patch 2009
Visiting Ryan O’Shannan Farms on Saturday afternoon was a lot of fun. Â My mom, sister, Nichole (my almost sister-in-law), the girls, and I went to the farm after I got off work. Â We got to see a cow close up (and pet her if we wanted) and two calves. Â Amabella and Tiffany did the hay […]

Trying Out Cloth Diapering
Diapers, diapers, diapers! Over the last couple of months, I have realized how much waste is accumulated through using disposable diapers. Â I also decided again that I liked the idea of trying cloth diapers on the girls. Â Well, I just ordered a new type of cloth diaper to try. Â They are Gro Baby diapers, which […]

Seagulls Love Donuts
Seagulls Love Donuts, originally uploaded by Trev Tawn. On the boat over to Alcatraz, friends dared me to feed a seagull out of my mouth. All I asked for was eye protection.

At Kristen’s Wedding
The girls and I had a great time at my cousin Kristen’s wedding on May 9th. Amabella and Adeliza did great. I had lots of help with my parents, Tiffany, Brandon, and Nichole. But perhaps the greatest help and most fun for Amabella was her 3 1/2 year old cousin, Tara. They hugged, played, and […]

Valentine’s Day 2009
This year was Amabella’s Second Valentine’s Day and Adeliza’s first. Their Grammie (Robin) bought them matching onesies and socks to wear. They have a new little friend, Julissa, who was born on Thursday the 12th, so we got the three girls together for Valentine pictures in their festive attire. Later in the evening we had […]

Amabella Loves Her New Little Sister
We have been pleasantly surprised by Amabella’s love for, and interest in her sister. While I was pregnant and would refer to “baby sister” she would pat my tummy. Now, most of the time so points to or pats Adeliza when we say “baby sister.”. She loves to gently pat Adeliza’s head and arms. She […]

What’s in a Name?
For those of you in our lives when I was pregnant with Amabella and when she was born, you know that naming a new chid is a responsibility Trevor and I don’t take lightly. (Or at least can’t make a quick decision on.) Amabella was born on a Saturday and named the following Wednesday. Adeliza was born on Thursay and named on Satruday. This was a big improvement. Perhaps baby Smith #3 will leave the hospital with a name, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

The Birth of Adeliza
Wednesday, February 4th, came as expected. Trevor had the day off, which means a day to relax as a family at home. Well, I headed off to bed around 10PM, then Ama woke up at 11:00. I suppose it was around 11:30 that my contractions started. I had quite a few and knew immediately we’d be having a baby some time within the next 24 hours. After a bit I got up and noticed it was only 12:15, and that my contractions must have been pretty close. I spent the next few hours monitoring my contractions and trying to relax at home like Trevor told me to do. However, around 3:30 I was in way too much pain to wait at home. To make a long story a little shorter, I told Trevor that we just needed to go the hospital, I couldn’t wait any longer. We got ready and arrived at Kaiser around 4:30. I was in a lot of pain to say the least. Poor Ama and Trevor had to listen to me through the contractions on the way to the hospital.

My Thoughts on Key Issues Addressed By Trevor
Over the past months, Trevor has been inundating me with new findings/theories he has researched about many issues. Most of the time I just feel bombarded by the magnitude of information and general skepticism, negativity, and paranoia I sense. I would like to be more open to hearing these viewpoints without being inundated with too much to take in. I want to be able to hear the arguments with both sides addressed, otherwise I sense the need to play devil’s advocate, which I don’t actually want to do. The position I often find myself in is one of defensiveness, which leads to so much anxiety, thus I choose to just shut down and shut out any new information. My desire is to be open, but not to be unwise and accept anything put before me. The following are some of the key issues Trevor has brought before me of late and some of my thoughts on the issues.
