I’m 35!!!
I celebrated 35 yesterday and we’ve been kind of celebrating all week. 🙂 I love spreading out my birthday! I opened my present from Trev (a fun stove-top popcorn popper) on Sunday. Then I opened cards from my sis and Amabella Monday. Tuesday, we had Chinese food & yummy chocolate mousse cake from Oliver’s Market to celebrate just the 5 of us. I’ve received a couple gifts in the mail and have been getting things done around the house, and enjoying it. 🙂
On Tuesday night, when we had cake, by the time the girls remembered they hadn’t sung happy birthday, most of the toppings were off the cake & it was half eaten. Then, when I blew out the candles, Adeliza cried that she didn’t get a turn. So, we lit candles and sang a few more times. 🙂 Below you will see a picture of Avalina after she has thoroughly enjoyed her cake and has already tried cleaning herself off with a paper towel. She is only in a diaper for a reason.
I was up a dozen times or so Tuesday night/Wednesday morning – with 3 little ones, it’s easy to have happen. You know, a bad dream, “I need a drink of water,” “I need to go potty”… What I didn’t expect was Amabella waking me up about four times to see if it was morning yet for my birthday. The first time, she was sitting up in bed and told me she just prayed for me that I’d have a good day and a fun time with daddy at night (while they’d be with Grammie & Papa). Then Adeliza needed to get up early. We played Candyland after me trying to delay getting up as long as possible. (She and I got up a little before 7:30, though she was awake and constantly touching or talking to me from some time before 7:00.) 🙂
So, when Trevor woke up he came and gave me a hug and called out to the girls to ask if they had wished me a happy birthday. Then he laughed and commented that I’m old – He loves the few weeks I am 2 years older than him. 🙂
I had a fun birthday! The 5 of us spent the morning & lunch with Trevor’s parents & grandparents at their home & the craft shop. Trevor & Papa worked on making bee traps and I looked around the craft shop a bit. The girls loved playing on the swing hanging from the tree outside of Nana and Papa’s house. Then my mom took the girls home with her to spend the night with her and Papa. I got more cards from each of the girls and a bouquet of roses from them (and my mom).
Trev & I enjoyed the afternoon hanging out, going to Whole Foods (to use like 10 coupons), having dinner at BJs, then to Staples for some good deals and things I needed. 🙂 Later in the evening, Trevor put on the original Bourne Identity (from the 80s) and we watched that while I partially put together a dresser for the baby. Tonight I will need to tackle the drawers, but it looks pretty cute.
I had so many sweet birthday wishes on facebook and text messages, I received nice cards in the mail or in person, and I received some thoughtful gifts. It was so fun!
Tonight we plan to have dinner with my parents as they bring the girls back to town. Then one evening soon, we will have dinner with Trevor’s family to celebrate. As I said at the beginning, I love spreading out my birthday, it makes it so special!
