Fun Weekend with Auntie Tiff
We had an eventful couple of days. Yesterday, Saturday, February 3rd, Amabella had a basketball game at church at 10. Her team won their first win of the season, and she had fun. She also loves having one of her best friends, Danica, on her team and got to play against her other best friend, Abby. At 11:30, Azri and Ava had their game. Azri made a basket and was so proud. Every time it was time to move to the other court, he ran under the basket with his hands up, ready, but he was possibly the shortest one out there. They also had a great time. Avalina loves that one of her best friends, Zion, is on her team this year.
While “watching” the games, Adeliza, and those not playing, played Legos, played with friends, or snacked on treats from the snack bar.
After getting lunch from the snack bar we headed, a bit last minute, to spend the day with my sister in the city. We thought maybe we’d go to the zoo. However, Auntie had ideas in mind, so the kids voted on the beach along the marina in walking distance from her house.
We walked past the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts on our way. The kids had fun taking every photo op. Azri particularly enjoyed running after the birds or barking at dogs.
We continued toward the beach but were stopped because they had exercise equipment out in the field where the kids could hang on bars or in the loop things that are on the end of chains. They played and got a bit muddy.
Next, to the beach area. The kids mostly wanted to walk along the big rocks. It is not nearly as fun sometimes to be the parent because I remember loving to do things like that. However, the entire time I kept thinking someone would slip or fall in the water and drown…
Well, finally we decided to have them get off the rocks. Azri was most quick to listen and chose to jump from the last rock into the sand below. I don’t know if he meant to just throw himself on the sand or if he fell, but he hit his head super hard on a rock the was nearly hidden by the sand. I raced him to the bathroom nearby and my sister checked everywhere for ice. Eventually the yacht club got some for us. Poor kid had a huge goose egg on his forehead. After settling some, the kids played in sand (and water) before we headed back to Auntie’s house to get cleaned up and dry.
We walked to dinner followed by our favorite tradition, cupcakes at Kara’s Cupcakes (for me) and Over the Moon ice cream (for everyone else).
Then we decided to stay the night and go to church with her in the morning. We popped into GAP and got a couple outfits for the girls and headed back.
The kids always love to use Auntie’s notebooks at her house and Azri joined right in. This was his first time in her new place and he was so excited to get to come. He drew her many pictures. These were two of them: Auntie Tiff and Azri on the left and a self-portrait of him with his goose egg. ?
My sister is always so hospitable. We had so much fun together.
After church, lunch, and frozen yogurt/ice cream (dipped in chocolate for some of us), we headed home.
