New Van
So, maybe it was an early Valentine’s present, or just because Trevor couldn’t stand seeing me continuing to drive my van as one thing after another fell apart, but Trevor decided to get me a new van. The kids are super excited that we now own a pretty, white, 2013 Toyota Sienna.

SPCF Girls Valentine’s Party
Sunday afternoon, February 11, while Trevor and Azri went to Hayward to look at a van to replace my silver van, the girls and I went to the Girls Valentine’s Party at church. It was a sweet time with a small group of girls, lots of helpers, and fun. The kids started with an activity […]

Celebrating with Friends
We had one more celebration on Saturday, February 10. Adi invited a few friends and their families over for her party. She first wanted a cupcake theme, then Valentine’s theme. We did both. Grammie, Papa, and Uncle Nathan also joined for the party. We set up our newly emptied and painted living room with all […]

Celebrating Adi with Smiths and Grahams
On February 9th, the Friday after Adeliza’s birthday, we celebrated with Oma and Granddad and Nana and Papa. By Adi’s choice, we had dinner at Olive Garden. I had them sing to her and then Adi informed me that she doesn’t like it when they do that. I’m so proud of my daughter for respectfully, […]

The 2018 winter Olympics have begun! At school, Pastor Trevor encouraged the students to watch. We have thoroughly enjoyed some ice skating, but couldn’t make it through the few hours long opening ceremonies segment. The kids stayed up late several nights watching.

Chicks!!
Have I mentioned that we have chickies?!?! We were surprised when one of our hens was already sitting on a clutch of eggs. We had planned to wait for spring weather before trying to have chicks, but this hen had other plans. She’s been an attentive mama and we have 9 chicks that are half […]

Azri’s Special Afternoon
When the kids have appointments, I like to schedule them so that we can have a special end of our day together as a little date. azri recently had to get 3 fillings at the dentist. He was quite a trooper and picked out a squirt gun as his prize when we left. It was […]

Hannah and Bobby Hamster
The 2nd and 3rd grade class spent half of the school year earning a prize for collective good behavior. In discussing the prize, they either wanted a field trip or some sort of class party like pizza, ice cream, popcorn, and a movie. When Pastor Trevor heard about it, He suggested a trip to the […]

Adeliza is 9!!!
Adeliza had many of her favorites today: pinwheels and salami and cream cheese rolls for lunch, ice cream sandwiches at school, and flowers and macaroons at home after school. Next she opened a birthday card from Aunt Debbie and Uncle Sonney. Money and a card is super fun, especially when saving for something special. ? […]

Celebrating Adi Early
We had fun celebrating Adi early tonight. I bought her lots of fun baking stuff, and she opened them while the Superbowl game played in the dining room (as we don’t have a usable living room right now). After she opened the gifts, I walked into my room and Azri is stuffing a Lego set […]

Watching Home Movies and Reminiscing
We had such fun watching old home movies this evening. A favorite was watching as my oldest was 2 1/2 holding her 2 week old sister on my bed and watching that poor baby getting flopped all over the place. All while my 1 1/2 year old rolled around on the bed. My husband pointed […]

Christmas Sweetness
On Friday, December 23rd … “Today is our Christmas and I already am reminded of how blessed I am. Yesterday, as I was struggling with disappointment and sadness I knew that God wanted me to have a good attitude regardless of my circumstances. I prayed and then pulled my oldest daughter to me. I wrapped […]

Planted!
First thing one does on New Year’s Day is undecorate and drag the dying Christmas Tree out of the house, considering the fire danger. But kids could not leave her just sitting there on the old wood pile.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Yes, this did happen in my house only moments before we were planning to celebrate Christmas with Trevor’s family on Saturday. Three children were standing on the couch dangerously close to the tree. Before I could get to the room, one pushed another who tried to keep her […]

We had a lot of fun this afternoon playing soccer as a family. The girls are really looking forward to starting outdoor soccer this summer, so Trevor thought we should start practicing. :-). It was a great time even when there was some rolling in the grass, crying, and laying down in the shade. I […]
